Machado Subs Top Argentinean Wrestler
Local idol of Niteroi, the PCF middleweight champion, Gustavo 'Ximu' Machado featured the main event against Argentinean top wrestler Alfonso 'El Toro' Garate (Boca/Sukata Team). El Toro rushed for an early body lock, but Machado dominate from the clinch and controlled the Argentinean wrestler. With good combos of punches and low kicks, Ximu caused damages in the legs of El Toro who nearly was submitted in first round when the Gracie Barra CT member sunk an armbar, but the bell sounded and saved the Argentinean.
Second stanza was not different and the suffering of Garate was visible when Machado landed his low kicks, the pain was noticeable. The fight hit the ground again and Machado tried an armbar that Garate defended so that Machado went to the bottom position. From there he sank his main weapon, the heel-hook, finishing the wrestler.
'Jaba' Soares dominates
RFT's brawler, Julian 'Jaba' Soares and Andre 'Minhoca' Luiz (Top Brothers) were in the co-main event of the night and that was all with Soares. He combined kicks and punches, and takedowns attempts, by his side Luiz tried to defend the fury of Julian, but in second round this pressure was too much and Soares finished Luiz with a perfect front choke at 4min:43s.
Johnny Eduardo is superb, RFT reaches 100%!!
A revamped and dangerous Muay Thai fighter, this is Johnny Eduardo nowadays. After losing fights on road, the Boxe Thai fighter turned this situation and already dispatched three fighters this year. His third victim was his foe in The Glory, Cristiano Bananada (BTT). Aware of the technique of Eduardo on the feet, Bananada took the fight down and felt comfortable of putting Eduardo on his backs. Eduardo did not waste time and in a quick movement armbarred the BTT from the bottom position.
After the fight Eduardo called Milton Vieira, the Bananada's coach for rematch of a fight that they performed in 2006 at Super Challenge MMA. Let's see if we will watch this fight still this year.
Ralph Lauren of Renovacao Fight Team kept his good phase [and consequently his team's good phase] at defeating Vitor Santos (Nova Uniao). Lauren was close of imposing a TKO in the end of the fight with vicious strikes via ground and pound, but it went to the distance and he won by unanimous.
Alves beats Braga in a grudge match, Barros victorious
They were not only teammates, they were good friends - but the live changed and they are now in different teams, and the old friendship was extinguished. Diego Braga (Gracie Fusion) and Amilcar Alves (Nova Uniao) solved their difference by professional way - Alves connected better on the feet and outclassed the Gracie Fusion fighter that suffered a knock down in R1. Braga tried to take the fight down, but Amilcar stuffed the attempts and got "the glory" by unanimous decision.
Aloisio 'Dado' Barros (Gracie Barra CT) imposed his Muay Thai clinic over Bruno Machado (Caverna Team). Machado had his moment on the fight, when he took the backs of Barros with a body triangle, but the Gracie Barra CT's low kicks and nice hands' combination impressed the judges that gave him the unanimous decision victory.
